Bundy Poinciana Tree

I couldn't be in Bundaberg at this time of the year and NOT blip a Poinciana Tree. They are just magnificent and I've been eyeing this one off just down the road at the local Primary School.

The flowers are just the most stunning colour and the seed pods are enormous and quite architectural. It was just before sunset when I took the photo and it just seemed to enhance the colours incredibly.

I thought I should just divert for a couple of days from the Botanical Gardens. It's quite seductive really and there are a lot more species to capture. I'm going to put the alarm on for 4.00am and hopefully make it out to Elliott Heads for sunrise. Time to try out the new ND Filter!!
