Central heating for butterflies

Mid November is not really the time we expect to see butterflies in this part of the world. Torrential rain this morning was followed by warm sunshine and a walk round the parkland nature area. Mrs J spotted this Red Admiral sunning itself on a leaf, so the rain drop shots from this morning were rejected.
A few months ago, a chap I passed the time of day with, told me a friend of his had seen a Kingfisher in the murky stream in the area. I thought it unlikely but didn't say so, I'm glad I didn't because this afternoon we got glimpse of one along that stream. I'm delighted, to say the least.
