Puerto Vallarta Pier

It has been more than six years since we have been in this fine city and we continue to marvel at the changes that have taken place since our last visit. The malecon has been completely rebuilt, widened and beautified in the process, and numerous construction projects have taken place. A big change has been in the municipal mulle (pier). It was undergoing renovation when we last left. That project is now complete and the result is spectacular. Not only is the design of the actual pier quite unique, but the architects put this incredible structure in the middle. It dominates the terrain and creates a very appealing photo subject. Needless to say, I shot it a variety of times - during the day, at dusk and at night (fortunately it is illuminated once the sun starts to set). Of the many shots I took, I liked this environmental image the best as it had the perfect clouds to setoff the 25 meter structure.
