Shelterbelt

Went out looking for a sunset but the cloud rolled off the hills all around, very foggy to the south.

I like the shape of the trees at this farm, they seem to be more photogenic in winter than in full leaf.

Watching the cloud rolling off the hills in the last light was like scene from one of the BBC natural history documentaries in far flung parts of the world. But it was right here in the Peak District.

It is getting colder now, 47F as we got back into the car.

I thought it was a bit late for any birds to be around but large flock of Fieldfare went overhead dropping in to some sheltered trees.

Also saw 22 Lapwing heading south which is nice to see at this time of year. They breed here but I don't usually see them in winter, they go the seaside for their holidays I think.
