day-off with (or without?) three Munros

How I couldn' t reach any of the three munros? That was my question at the end of the day :)

That' s easy to tell the whole story.

We' ve chosen a slightly difficult route with my Slovakian friend and colleague from work. Our plan was really difficult. Just go from Tyndrum on top of two munros Ben Oss and Ben Lui.

Fresh start past 8:30 pm at Dalrigh. And there was the first mistake in the beginning. Chose the other path :) So lost some minutes for walk in the beggining. Fortunately we were crossing this area soon and after that we' ve joined the path through Allt Gleann Auchreoch in right direction. We found some amazing view through this way :). After that episode we were hiking to Beinn Dubhcraig slightly later and passed him at 900m level. But this munro was not our top priority. Staying for a short break at this point while other side of hills was covered in clouds completely. You couldn' t see whole Ben Oss (even Ben Lui). There was a chance to see Loch Oss downside for a while. Funny moment was to see rare type of cloud with name Altocumulus lenticularis.

So we dropped down to the Bealach Buidhe with plan to reach the summit of Ben Oss finally like the first priority to reach the point (summit). But you know how it works in Scottish Highlands when you are covering in clouds or mist. We chose slightly different path when we passed Loch Oss. After approximately 35 minutes we were lost in clouds with no chance to see the top summit. Funny moment without any panic.
Always you could check the map and take the decision.
Friend of mine was wishing scattered clouds for a while. And that was happening downside in a while and we' ve seen Allt Coire Laoigh.

Dropped down to one great place for a lunch break past 2pm and view to majestic Ben Lui. What an amazing views we found there. Ben Oss and Ben Lui without clouds in a while. Even we recognised fact that we missed the chance to reach the summit of Ben Oss. We were so close since we' ve lost in white clouds :)

That' s the reason why I like Scottish mountains despite the factor of changeable weather. It was really good lesson for us again (for me especially).
After that we took a decision that we couldn' t reach the summit of Ben Lui today (it' s on my Munro' s list now).
After longer break than we expected (still were enjoying the amazing place) we slowly started to drop down into Allt Coire Laoighdown. Weather looked good when we' ve finished our route despite the fact that the summit of Ben Lui was covered by grey clouds at the end of the day.

Anyway, it was really good day which we spent at Hills of Tyndrum.
So I hope that you should like the picture of Ben Oss which I' ve taken at our great observation "tea break" point.

Hope that your Saturday was good as well.

FIY:Finally I could recommended Ben Oss route (we modified this one) despite the fact that we change some parts of the track. But remember you need a proper waterproof gore-tex boots and good outdoor equipment (-;
