Winter on it's way?

Angie out in the morning for a ride on Sultan. I picked up Flash at the half way point. Angie asked if there were any gloves in the car and luckily I had my warm and not too thick leather forestry gloves. She tried to hide them when I got the camera out!

Weather is strange. We are still waiting for a frost, have had as good as no rain and it's unusually warm. Our luck on the northern side of the alps is causing big problems on the south side with massive flooding in northern Italy, southern Switzerland.

However today there was a feeling change was in the air. The forecast for the next few days remains good however. Thought though it was time to do the twice a year tyre change from summer to winter. Normally one says winter tyres should be on from "O to O" (October to Ostern -Easter). Luckily only do Angie's car, using all year tyres on the jeep which actually means a compromise, neither very good in summer or winter.

MrB around to drop off the last of his 2014 honey for Angie who is being inundated with orders from her colleagues in Munich. As 2014 was not a good honey year, there is a shortage but unlike oil sheiks and commodity market dealers, MrB hasn't increased his price. I still haven't been tempted to sell any of mine so still have enough to keep family and close friends supplied.

With no frosts yet was able to refill his rucksack (he came on motorbike) with some fennel, carrots and beer radish. In the evning Angie made a huge quantity of leek soup, rescuing the remains of a few rows near the horse fields from being totally eaten by the horses. Quite surprised they eat them and even more so when I threw one of the less good beer radishes (about 20cm long and probably 8cm thick) over the fence and saw Asyr munch it with joy. Perhaps I should have offered him a wheat beer.
