The Long Way Home
An early start for us as we wanted to drive up to Assynt. The sunrise was spectacular and we made slow progress, as there were so many photographic opportunities.
This is Ardvreck Castle in Assynt, dating from the 16th century and makes a great subject, when the light is right.
It was such a beautiful day that we decided to carry on North and went to introduce ourselves to Croft16.
Tanni and his owners made us very welcome and we got to see first hand all the hard work they've put in on the croft. Can't wait to taste the fresh eggs we bought from them.
We had our picnic lunch at Keodale, then drove over to Bettyhill and bumped into someone else that we knew via the internet. They own a gorgeous deerhound called Monty, so it was good to see him in the flesh.
It was getting towards sunset and we had a long drive back but Mr E wanted to come home via Strath Naver and Ullapool.
We got fish & chips (as recommended by my BlipSis) and ate them at the harbour. They were extremely tasty!
It's been a long day but well worth it.
