An ordinary life....

Cloudburst...

Backblip

Alan and Gill were off out on an adventure by 9.30am so Ele and I pottered about the kitchen for a while, before braving the rain and heading off to Gloagburn for lunch.

While we were sitting at the window enjoying their split pea and ham soup (Ele) and smoked haddock tart (me) the rain, that had been falling constantly, stepped up a gear when the heavens literally opened and rain started thundering down. The restaurant that seconds before had been full of the hum of conversation, fell silent as everyone turned to look outside in awe. It only lasted a minute or two and had started to wane by the time I got my phone out to take the pic, but it really was a sight to behold.

We drove home the back roads as the A9 in heavy rain is no fun, whereas returning home via the flooded backroads in Ele's mini caused no end of mirth as we met tractors, massive MPVs and an articulated lorry at various awkward places! Her mini was a mud ball by the time we got back!

Just time for coffee and a slice of ginger bread before Alan got in, looking for his dinner. Marion was here on a sleep over so Ele and I were able to have dinner and watch telly and blether till gone 1.00am.

David should go away more often! :-))

*Text from D saying he'd climbed the third highest mountain in England and had sore legs. No sympathy from me! :D
