Mehrangarth Fort, Jodphur

This morning we drove 50 Kms from our hotel into Jodphur, a thriving and prosperous city to visit the Mehrangarth Fort which dates back to the 15th Century. It is a magnificent fort but unfortunately the light and haze were poor and a blip would not do it justice.

Instead I thought I would blip some of the 16th Century stonework. It is incredible to think this stone was hewn by hand and carved by hand. Let alone taken to the top of the huge hill to be put into place.

The guards are quite funny about having their photo taken, so I took this one from quite a distance.

On the road again tomorrow and along our journey we are visiting some remote villages and going to an Opium ceremony before arriving in Udaipur.

Thanks for stopping by and once again my apologies for not being able to reply to your fab comments at the moment.
