Rajadamnern Stadium

I never thought I would find myself at a boxing match but Muay Thai is a national sport here so we went to the legendary Rajadamnern Stadium to sample the atmosphere. It was amazing and the crowd just made it. Ring side seemed to be mainly tourists like us but just behind us the locals were involved in frantic betting at every stage of the fight. The young fighters were astonishing and the whole thing was based on scoring exciting technical points - almost no blood involved! Better still was the respect shown all round to the crowd, the trainers and each other. Most impressive. To complete the local theme, we journeyed to the stadium in tuk tuk and then went to a local night food market to get some street food on the way home. Cambodia tomorrow to visit Angkor Wat.
