Oil rig and cable ship in the Cromarty Firth, from Newhall Point. I liked the clouds at the time of taking this... hence more sky than anything else.

First shot taken with the Bronica SQ-Ai medium format camera - a rather large beast of a camera, with the most fantastic viewfinder. Something that takes a while to get used to, is that the image in the viewfinder is reversed with regard to left and right. Moving it to the side, means you have to move the opposite way to what you'd expect from what your seeing in the viewfinder. Also, rotating the camera to say, straighten the horizon, is the opposite too. Thoroughly confusing for a while!

Tripping the shutter results in almighty whack from the mirror being raised. For landscape type shots, when using a tripod, best to lock it up via the little lever first. Thereby avoiding any shake it may induce. I forgot to do that after carefully setting up for this little snap.

My cable release... ancient cable release, bought for my first camera in about 1981, has been revived. It works wonderfully with this camera. Something else to reduce camera shake... if used correctly.

Took me ages to use up the mere twelve shots on the spool. And a while longer to get around to scanning and uploading them. This first shot, eventually uploaded on 19th of November 2014.
