Feather Offering

I have been told the feather offering to the young chicks may be to help them regurgitate fish bones. Rather like a cat with fur balls!

These Grebe are very attentive parents. As you can see it was blowing hard, and at one stage the feather go blown away and was chased after.

Sad news - one of the nests got washed away in the strong swells a couple of days ago. The parents were trying to rebuild it as the waves washed over it. Today it is just a pallet floating on the lake with no nest and no grebe.
