Variegated Beech Tree

Not much time to blip, so just nipped out of the front door to capture this wonderful beech tree at the top of our close.

A busy weekend starting this evening with friends coming round to kick of JJ's 70th birthday, which is tomorrow. A Chinese takeaway followed by cards.

Tomorrow morning the community orchard, which is behind our house, is having a tidy up and we have agreed to help. A couple of months ago I asked the parish council if they would take a look at the area as it seemed to me it was being neglected and the brambles and nettles were taking over. They are desperately over-stretched and are hoping volunteers will turn up to help. It does need careful management but having taken a look on Google, the area has deteriorated considerably in the past three or four years.

In the afternoon our son and family are coming over for afternoon tea and birthday cake, and then in the evening we are meeting friends for dinner.
