On the Common

Another late-afternoon-on-Friday walk around the pond on Wooler Common. We seem to be making a habit of it! Not many leaves left on the deciduous trees but, even so, the remaining foliage is very beautiful.

The path around the pond makes a very pleasant short walk - many different sorts of trees, wetland grasses and bullrushes by the pond, ducks and lots of birdlife. A gold crest was hopping around on a crab-apple tree but it was, by then, too dark to take its photo!

Lots of bird boxes, bat boxes and squirrel feeders on the trees. We suspect that if you were to sit very quietly on one of the benches at dawn, you'd see all sorts of wild life - maybe we'll try it one day...
