A big day today. Miss E lost her first tooth!
I remember the day it first appeared so vividly.
It was May 2009, Miss E was fourteen months old without a tooth in her head and we were at Grey's Court to see the bluebells.
We were pushing her pushchair into the woods when I noticed a white mark on her gum. By the time we got through the bluebells - half an hour later - there was a tooth!
And not an inconsiderable amount of relief - we were wondering was she ever going to get teeth?!
And today that tooth fell out!
It made me quite emotional!
This morning was the usual routine for me - lots of cardboard to the tip, lots of books and clothes to the charity shop, lots of huffing and puffing at the gym and lots of scan 'n' shopping in Tescos.
Then lots of asparagus and mushroom in my omelette before heading off to Whizzkids to meet Mrs C and the boys.
We had a lovely afternoon - lots of tea and chatting and happy little people.
And a giddy Miss E when her tooth fell out!
About half an hour before we left a woman came in and asked did we have a black car. Yes.
She'd just seen someone crash into it, get out and check the damage and then drive off. Annoying!
Amazingly she had taken down the number plate for us and gave us all her details saying she was happy to be a witness.
There is a bit of damage, nothing too dramatic but still needing to be sorted.
Mr K filled out an online incident report to the police to get an incident number for the insurance and within half an hour they called back to say that they want to prosecute the driver for failure to stop at the scene of accident.
A fine of up to £5,000 and 5-10 points on your licence. Eek!!
I'm torn - not wanting someone - obviously a parent of young children - to get into that kind of trouble. What if those points mean they lose their licence?
But on the other hand why should we be hundreds of pounds out of pocket because they reversed into my car and then just drove off. After seeing the damage.
Mr K is grumpy about it but I'm managing to put on a brave face after an evening of singing, dancing and Thai chicken for dinner!
