its a summer mainstay on nearly every Aussie beach that has a surf life saving club. Probably one of the reasons why Aussie coastal kids don't drown as often as you'd think they would. Surf skills & knowledge along with sand running for the little kids - graduating to surf skis, paddle boards & swim legs as their rite of passage... you can even be the amateur or pro national champ if you want it take it to the top.

The under 6s is where we are up to...only ever going knee deep (unless there is an untoward poorly timed wave at the wrong time -then you may find the kids go under)

A swim to cool off after, followed by lunch (learning cafe & eating out skills) & the drive home. Fairy cakes, friends & time under the sprinkler, before a movie, dinner bath, reading & bed for them. Time to catch up on some blips & then bed for me.

The garden survived its first night against the elements (rabbits) & have planted some pumpkins & watermelons in the yard up the back.
