Brockworth Areodrome

This is what is left of a piece of aviation history.

Whilst the business park continues to grow, the rest of the airfield sprouts teasels.

Go here to look at how the Gloster factory used to look..

On the 7th April 1941, the Gloster E.28/39 became the first jet engine to take off. Albeit only a few feet.... it was still the first.

There is a small plaque near the site, and the local (modern chain) pub is called the Whittle.

It makes me so mad.

So much history is torn up / down, thrown away in this country.
