Spider on Purple

I came home around lunchtime and noticed a large spider laying on our garage floor. I thought it was dead so nudged it with my shoe. It then came to life but I caused it to loose a leg (felt bad about this as he sat there quivering - he was big enough for me to notice).

As my wife and daughter both love purple, and because purple is the colour of royalty, I considered it only appropriate to blip him (or her) on purple.

LARGE is impressive!

I have no idea what species it is so would value your assistance in finding out. :)

The seven legged spider is now somewhere in our garden.
