Days Gone By

Woke up this morning and looked out the window to see where we had arrived at in the dead of night. What a beautiful place, a 7000 acre sheep station with 10,000 stock units, beautiful rolling land running into very steep looking bush clad hills.
After breakfast and much more talking about the meeting we set off for home.

We came home by a very different route through West Otago. This shot was taken at Lawrence where we made a wee detour into Gabriels Gully where gold was discovered in 1863. This tractor looks like it has almost been sitting there that long.
The farmer came along and he said it had been played on by children for many years, Alongside it was a very old building now in total disrepair that had housed a museum at the time of the centenary of the gold rush.
I was so glad Rainie had come with me as I got tired mid afternoon and she took over the driving. Gee it is good to be safely home but we accomplished what we set out to do and the folk down south were really appreciative of our visit.

Have put a back blip in for yesterday of the Clutha bridge. Should have put some of the beautiful landscape in today but this little old tractor appealed just because of the historic area it was in
