Driving back the Darkness

When we look out of this window at night we see nothing but darkness. That darkness means when we step outside on a clear night we see a sky full of stars and the Milky Way stretching over our heads so we definitely aren't complaining. Given the choice between this cosy darkness and a world of street lamps and parked cars we made our decision long ago. However I'm sure that darkness is partly why we also love all the Christmas light bridges, advent stars, and candles.
As you see here that blackness makes for a nice mirror effect and all the light sources reflect back in double!
This coming Sunday is the first in advent and the signal for all the Christmas lights to go up so the night will glow a little more after this weekend. Then all we need is some snow and the Christmas spirit will be fully with us.
