Sunny day down at the lake

I think it was in the middle of summer I last used that title so this is rather a different picture. The day is sunny :-) and I am down at the lake but here you see ice at the top and bottom of the image. More central is the reflection of the forest at the side of the lake.
It was a fantastic sunny day with a sky dappled blue and white. After two days of below freezing temperatures everything was covered in hoar frost. We wandered down to the lake and then along the stream that flows out of the lake. The three beaver dams are still in place so the deep trench holding the stream is still a lake flooding over into the fields on both sides of the stream.
A great walk which gave us an excellent appetite for the breakfast we had skipped!
