Sunset, Kaituna Quarry Point, Lake Ellesmere

For tonight's shot, I raced down to the shores of Lake Ellesmere/Te Waihora in time to capture the setting sun from the point by the old Kaituna Quarry.

It was hardly restful when I was there though - the stiff Westerlies careering across the lake, whipping up whitecaps and creating an uncommon swell on the lake's usual flat surface.

It's been a busy day, spent mostly with the soon-to-be new owners of our house. I went to take some photos of their place for the auction particulars, and they then followed me back out to the valley to help out in the garden and have some well deserved refreshments afterwards. The private sale of our home has meant we have gained some new friends, ones that we'll be keen to come up and see in the future after our move south next month.
