A Day Worth Recording

Wood and fire have been the theme of the day.

For my part I've been semi aware we've wood stoves being installed in the coming week and the large pile of cut wood is neither properly sorted into dry-enough and needs-more-drying and none of it was short enough for the stoves.

Much sawing, splitting, and sorting later we have piles in some sort of order.  (Cosmosellie will know what I mean ;-)

E, on the other hand, cleared another swathe of garden, finding yet another path and indeed a large wrought iron gate.  It having been relatively dry today she got a bonfire started with the old battens off the roof (now that's one seriously expensive source of firewood).  The resulting pyre was rather impressive.

In the evening Rob and Di arrived - friends from University days.  Hence it was time to set fire to the slightly-too-long-but-can't-be-bothered-to-shorten logs.
