Meeting Old Friends Again

Yesterday's traveling leaves its impressions. The fatigue - we were forced to make a detour because some copper thief had robbed us of necessary connexions - still weighs in our heads. The best remedy is to visit the beach and let the fresh winds blow the cramps out. Or let it transform into the loud rustling of infinity.

I was a bit in a hurry not to be late for an appointment with an old friend. But I could not fail to meet again my Good Eternal Friend, the North Sea. It is such a liberating meeting even only for a short time. And She gave me my photo for today. She offers us Her curving along the Zandmotor Peninsula. A Region to lie down at Her Side and just Be.

Then I was the first in the traditional dark brown tavern where I usually meet Old Friends. Schooltime and Study Friendship, it seems a bit nostalgic but it joins you with the past, with the inevitable aging and all aspects of fate in fidelity. It was a heartily meeting again as we had not spoken each other for a long time. We did meet at that unexpected burial of a mutual friend a few weeks ago.

He told that he was doing a short term project on Spinoza and that he planned writing about The Last Questionaire. Which triggered a short discussion on what kind of question could be considered as a final one. And: would that be a general question, asking for a socio-empirical answer? Or would that be a unique personal question? Like that painful ultimate question that still haunts you in the darkness of a sleepless night?
