A view from 1914!

The restaurant at the Alhambra theatre that is!

We had lunch there today and as the theatre was opened in 1914 it's new(ish) restaurant has been thus named.

We had a very nice fish pie and a glass of wine whilst enjoying this view over Bradford City Hall and the City Park in Centenary Square from the top floor of the theatre.

We weren't just there for lunch but to see a fantastic, energetic production by Matthew Bourne of 'Lord of the Flies'. It was very powerful and an excellent vehicle to promote young men and boys in dance / ballet. There were about 6 young males playing the lead parts but the rest were quite young boys and all were excellent.

I wasn't keen on the book when we read it at school but I would recommend this production to everyone.
