Dr Horse - Jack, That Cat Was Clean (1962)
Dr Horse was actually a singer and dancer called Al Pitman who was in a comedy troupe in the thirties called the Five Pork Chops. This hip-talking rap was a single on the Fire label in 1962 and he later joined the Ink Spots. The band here is led by Red Prysock. The track opens a rather good compilation that arrived today and has been in the CD player, called That Cat Was Clean! The Mod Side Of Jazz.
