The Unicorn Story

I was in Inverness for a meeting today and before catching the train home, I had a coffee with STV's Highlands & Islands reporter, Nicola McAlley.
It was 4 o'clock but the light of day was already dimming.
On the way into the Eastgate Centre to meet Nicola, my eye was drawn to this noble unicorn and I quickly snapped a picture on my phone.
As we left the cafe, I asked Nicola about another large sculpture inside the centre and she said it had been cast by Farquhar Laing, of Black Isle Bronze.
It turns out he had also cast the unicorn statue outside, which had been created by his father, the late Gerald Laing.
If I'd not thought to take a picture to Blip as I rushed past, I'd never have known...
