Puff, puff, whoooo!

How lucky can you get. Had to deliver some books to a friend in the wonderful area east of the bottom half of Lake Windermere. On the way back the sun came out so we decided to go into the National Trust Fell Foot Park. Thought there might be a blip of some boats on the lake.

Suddenly the whistle blew and across the lake came the steam train. It even stopped just at the right place for several shots.

This is the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway. 3.2 miles long. Run by enthusiasts. My grandchildren know it well.

Just after this shot the sun disappeared and sleet drove us back to the car.
