Teaching is the greatest act of optimism

Had a great day today teaching - managed to sign off almost all students to start their next level. Unfortunately had a sick kid at home. Charlotte stayed home from school today with the head cold thing going around. Of course poor kid has both parents that are in education (and Michael is a Governor at her school) so she was left with book reviews and maths assignments to work on. But have no fear as she was also left with grandparents who spent the day spoiling her rotten, while ensuring her work was completed.

There are a lot of positive things going on with my work and it is feeling good to be getting back into the game again. It's been a few years since I've been allowed to work at this pace and it's just the balance of ensuring I don't push it too far.

Meanwhile, Rainbows held their 2010 Olympics tonight. It was brilliant seeing the teamwork from the groups especially as last week I was about to throw the towel in with the amount of issues we were having. But all was resolved and life goes on happily for the Rainbows. Hooray!
