NannaK in Three Dimensions

NannaK and her husband H stopped by our house this afternoon on their return to Seattle from their cabin on one of the Gulf Islands in British Columbia. Within less than a minute, we were all chatting away as if we'd known each other for years!

Over coffee and snacks, our conversation ranged from travel and opera to boats and airplanes, our career years compared to our retirement years, the pleasures of being grandparents, University of Washington connections, and of course Blipfoto, among many subjects. As I thought about our time together afterward, it was like being part of a string quartet sight-reading a new piece of music, with each instrument's voice having an equal part in making the musical composition interesting and lovely.

An additional treat for me was to being able to look through NannaK's wonderful elephant book, finished just two days ago. It's a treasure, combining a brief text with her fine photography of African elephants with her rich, layered art.

We hope NannaK and H will now consider our home their new "rest stop" on their journeys to and from the Gulf Islands. And special thanks to H for doing the honors with several cameras--he's a model Blipfoto spouse!
