A ray of hope in their hearts #lifelineexpress

Ankita (10) is recovering from eye surgery aboard IMPACT's Lifeline Express hospital train in India.

IMPACT India describe how the little girl came to them for treatment after an eye injury developed into cataracts:

'Besides affecting her learning, other children were teasing her, and she was having difficulty playing with them. Because of lack of money and leading a compromised life with untold difficulties, her parents were unable to get treatment for her curable condition until they found out about the free eye camp of LIFELINE EXPRESS TRAIN at Chhindwara railway station, through another two persons of the same village who were already operated on before in the same camp. They came forward with a ray of hope in their hearts.

Here at Lifeline Express she was diagnosed with traumatic cataract and operated by Dr. Shiva Prasad Sahoo. After surgery Ankita promised us that, she will start to go to school and continue her studies.'

The hospital train travels the length and breadth of India 'taking the hospital to the people'.

To treat another child like Ankita costs just £40. Find out more:
