Amongst the long green grasses

Down a long gravel road, duck under a barb wire fence, it is wet under foot as you tramp through long grass which almost tickles your nose. A stream full of watercress trickles by, a warning quack from a pair of mallards echoes as you feel the air whizz round your ears and hear that steady beat of their wings as they take to the sky.

Where are you going, what will you find? There's a hint of something old protruding through the fresh green trees, something wooden, something hidden, wonder what it could be?

There's a break and what lies before you an old cottage battered and worn from passing storms, holes in the walls, a roof that has seen better days, no glass in the windows and a door without a door, just a more modern chair outside, a place to sit and ponder, a place to be alone amongst the long green grasses - a place which tells another story, a story to be continued another day.

My image for Derelict Thursday, thanks to SarumStroller for hosting this challenge.

A great day with my mum, walkingS. Some Christmas shopping, time for a cuppa and some lunch, grocery shopping, posting of Christmas cards and a little off road exploring, now that's variety. A cold grey day, 13C, not at all like summer.

Happy Thursday everyone :)
