Christkindlmarkt Munchen

Back-blip 1 of 2…..

A last business trip before Christmas and travelling with work colleagues who work on a different project but coincidentally were meeting in the same office complex. Given the early flight times we were able to take the train to the Christmas Markets in the centre of Munich and very impressive they are too, with a wonderful atmosphere on a chilly evening - though a bit of snow wouldn't have gone amiss.

Having wandered around for an hour we found a beer hall for a very welcome beverage before I departed to meet with my own project team at the Big Chrismas Tree adjacent to the Neues Rathaus in the Marienplatz. Eventually our eight-strong international gathering (English, German, French and Spanish) arrived and we proceeded to have a couple of gluhweins (equivalent to British mulled wine) on route to a local restaurant for a very welcome, and traditionally filling(!) dinner.
