An Avid Lensman

By SarumStroller

Sunset...

...over Old Sarum Hillfort.

Had big plans to go somewhere special today as the beautifully fine weather we had today was forecasted some time ago.

However, this cold of mine lingers and saps energy, motivation and creativity.

I wasn't going to let this sunshine go though so did at least hop on a bus and nip up to Old Sarum ringfort.

Nice pics of people walking dogs and general silhouetted shapes. Used longer lens to get just this tree but in the end went with a wider one to include something of the atmosphere of this special historical place. The inner ring, the 'motte', with its very steep sides infiltrates the right hand side and that rather weird yew tree growing out the side.

Nice in LARGE

Cold and cold and freezing now, so glad to be back inside and warm.

Hope you had good weather and managed to get a slice of Christmas even. I might hit the Salisbury Christmas Market tomorrow, when the weather returns to its normal dull....

Thanks to everyone who helped get my very wet night-shot of St Thomas's Square right up to no 2 in the Spotlights - you're all little treasures!

Lens is Tamron SP 17-50mm f2.8
