The Edge of the Wold

Fleeting

Coming down from the top of the Knott, it was intermittently hailing and raining, and all promise of any last sun seemed to have been snuffed out. I had spent the better part of the day hunched in front of the computer on my Christmas project (time is running out). But then the sun found a gap as we reached the coast at Far Arnside and as the tide was rising over the mudflats. It was a fleeting appearance.

After this I turned and trudged wearliy back up the hill towards home, but had I stayed a little longer I would have been treated to a more spectacular light show after the sun dipped below the horizon, and the clouds glowed orange.
