Crow Fight

Rarely do I see the crows fight. Usually they just hang out a bit away from each other and eat their peanuts or dog food. It seems almost comradely. Not today. For some reason the round headed crow decided he wanted the pointy headed guy to leave. So he dove in and harassed him. And later came back to bug him again. Eventually the round guy won. (Large) You can see more photos of the encounter on Chaikins of Bellingham.

It is interesting that where we live there are two kinds of crows, American Crows and Northwestern Crows. They are quite hard to distinguish and appear to interbreed so there are hybrids around as well. We have a group of what I'm calling "pointy headed" crows. Their faces are long and thin giving them a pointed look. Then we have what I call "round headed" crows. I've only seen one of those so he might just be a variant of the others. I have no idea which of these is an American or a Northwestern since both frequent this area. Usually they all get along.

Busy day today helping Helena pack. The movers arrive Monday so we need to have everything ready for them. We are getting quite close. Next step is a bit of shopping for things that H will need when she settles in, things like a shower curtain as hers has disappeared. I'm about to head out now to take care of that shopping.

Have a great day and evening everybody. Hope to do more commenting later this evening.
