A Stylish Aproach to the Shore

8.9C starting dull with rain late morning then clearing to sunny spells. Wind to 34 mph with gusts to 48 mph, dropping to a light breeze late afternoon.

With rain forecast through the middle of the day Apothecary7 and I decided to wait until after lunch to take Maeve the Deerhound for a walk. By the time we went out there were patches of blue sky but the light was soon fading as the sun went behind some clouds.

We walked down the road and across the road bridge over the railway line to get to the beach at Westhaven. Silver Cat was moored close to shore and lying on a heap of seaweed on the sand.

We continued along the beach and then along the former boardwalk (now a tarmac path!) and then along Carnoustie's seafront to the beach. We went down the steps to the beach and watched as a windsurfer made a stylish approach to the shore in the fading light.

From the beach we went along to the golf hotel then came back along the High Street and made our way home.
