Last evening for Will's Son et Lumière - sans Son.

Late this afternoon we went to Stratford to see my old friend again for a couple of hours. They are here until Monday, and then they return to Sussex where they now live. This Blip is of the Christmas lights at the end of Henley Street / Bridge Street, along with C and V on the left, having a chat - first time they had met!

We visited the light show at Shakespeare’s birthplace, which was being shown for the last time this evening (not quite sure why, when there are 10 days to go until Christmas Eve – if they could only show it for 2 weeks, why not start it 2 weeks later?).

Everyone attending was invited to enter the back garden of Shakespeare’s’ Birthplace to see the lights there, but to be honest, that was a big disappointment. Even our guests, who are the height of politeness, said that they really couldn’t see the point of the lights behind the house as they were really just lots of words, made up of lights. And the gardens couldn’t be seen at all. After walking through the gardens we were then herded through the gift shop at the side of the birthplace – I wonder why?????
However, we thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company for a couple of hours, and parted once more after imbibing a final hot chocolate. I hope we don't leave it for another 42 years!

Thank you so much for all of your kind thoughts following Stella’s disappearance on Friday. Sadly, she has not re-appeared, and we have not found her body either, which is very upsetiing. I guess that she just crawled into a favourite hidey-hole in the wood, to die peacefully. C has searched everywhere, and without using his chain-saw to chop down the undergrowth, I don’t think that we will ever find her. She was wearing a collar with a magnet in order to activate the cat flap. I guess one day her magnet will turn up somewhere in the wood.
