Sqeek Against The Night

Djolé Joy

It was a typical supermarket - high vaulted ceilings, huge steel beams and gleaming floors. The garish displays shouting out their offers and special deals threatened to overshadow the children from the nearest primary school that were in the supermarket, fundraising for Sport Relief. Until they took up their brightly decorated Djembe.

With the first call, they became one, vitality ascending and filling the building with a vibrant, joyful pulse. Small hands combined in unison to awaken the sleeping structure until in a great crescendo, the building itself took the final response of Djolé and carried their energy to every corner.
