Offstage

Passing the RDS (Royal Dublin Society) horse show when I saw these through the fence, catching a breather. Something about puppets (or puppet-style costumes), a definite sense of nightmare. They are horror story clichés, but effective nonetheless. One of the most disturbing films I saw was about a doll coming to life; such ideas yank at the strings of childhood terrors. I like the way these have fallen together, with the man in the middle's one manic eye holding my gaze.
