Pied Wagtail

Motacilla alba yarrellii.

A blipwander down beside the Water of Leith with M this afternoon. By the time we got out, all the contrast had gone from the day.
This wee bird spends a lot of time beside the water, busily dotting about, with his tail bobbing up and down. Usually they are quite shy, but this male was relatively bold.

A cousin of the grey wagtail with his yellow bottom :)
