Big Buddha

We went to Hong Kong for the weekend to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D with some friends and do some more sightseeing.

Today, we made it to Lantau Island to visit the Tian Tan Buddha. The most popular way to get there is to take the Ngong Ping 360, formally known as the Tung Chung Cable Car Project . Otherwise, people can take a very long hike there. A hike could be fun, but for us, riding on Asia's longest cable car sounded like fun too!

It took 30 minutes one way to get to the area where the Buddha is. If you are afraid of heights, this could be pretty scary, especially the part over the water.

We spent most of the day here, seeing the Buddha and eating great vegetarian food. Tons of great blip options, but this one gives the best overall feeling for what we did today.

As for the movie last night, none of us liked it much. Sure, the 3D effects and graphics were top notch and entertaining, but the overall story wasn't done to our liking.
