Stovetastic!

Following on from yesterday's blip!

A couple of hours after I posted the telephone box we had 8 mini power cuts! I was trying up update our new website, upload text & stuff! Off it went. Started again. Off it went, you get the picture!

Then around 17:00 it went again! Unfortunately this time not for minutes, but 25 HOURS!

I reported it to the company responsible & we are meant to be treated as urgent being a business! Hmmm. Understandably they were pushed. Over 5000 without sparks in the North East of Scotland!

No heating, no Tele, radio, hot water, lights, diddly squat! Operation heat sprung into life! Serendipity Sylvia (blip wife), Tequila (world?s grumpiest cockatiel), Nipper (Mums rescued super emo greyhound we are dog sitting) & I descended on the Inn bar & the little multi-fuel stove until 18:00hrs this evening.

The wind was howling, snow blizzard-ing, lit by candle light & kept warm by our only source of heat through the night the stove fire in the bar! The Ghillie gave us 5 bags of logs as we could not get out to get more. By 18:00 tonight it had eaten the lot! Fair play it did its job!

Ironically at 20:30 this evening we took a call form the said electricity company looking for rooms for 7 of their engineers drafted up from England to help with the weather initiated emergencies. We now have 4 of them tucked up in bed downstairs!

We told them it might be a little cold at the |Inn but it would soon warm up!

"We've just been without electricity for over 24 hours you know!!"

I wish I had took the camera along the road to the woman I rescued that crashed her car in the ditch. The picture, tears & relief on her face when I opened her car door to help was priceless. It would have been inappropriate the blip her me thinks in that situation but she enjoyed the warmth of the stove fire too!
With a little help for the farmer (low profile sports mini's = not good for gale hit snowy rural roads) we got her out & heading back to Aberdeen

Been a long couple of days!

Night!
