Azaleas and dogwoods

Bright and penetrating color pervades this spring, despite the drizzle. Azaleas are still one of my favorite shrubs to use in landscaping designs as they pack a mighty punch of color in spring and fade into the evergreen background the rest of the year. I love seeing whole azalea hedges abloom! I suspect this variety is a Hino Crimson or Girard's Fuscia and the tree above it is a pink dogwood (cornus florida) that is just about to flower. Looking forward to all the dogwood blooms coming up next! Happy Birthday, Mom!
