The Last Cask...

Today the photographer was photographed! All the distillery employees and coopers from the adjoining cooperage got together for a big group photo at the distillery gates, along with the last ever cask to be made at the cooperage (also closing) which was filled with the last spirit to come off the stills at the distillery. So while we all smiled and sang out 'cheeeese!' it was quite a sad occasion. The cask has been beautifully finished and adorned with a couple of shiny brass plaques engraved with all the names of all the distillery workers and coopers at Port Dundas Distillery & Dundashill Cooperage. Nice touch. Apparently once it has been matured for three years (the minimum required to be called Scotch Whisky), we will all receive a bottle from it! I guess they'd better keep their address list up to date!

All still snotty-nosed at home, and I have a cracking cough to match. Wee D has taken to stripping off at any given moment, mainly trousers and socks, but sometimes the t-shirt comes off too. Let's hope he doesn't carry that one through to nursery on Thursday. At the moment he is sitting bare-legged in the high chair, picking out the pieces of happy faces from the mound of vegetables that are also on the plate. Guaranteed he won't eat ANY veg, neither will wee C - she's currently dancing round the dinner table avoiding even looking at the veg, let alone putting it in her mouth! Long gone are the days of Annabel Karmel when both of my children would gobble up any concoction I put before them - now I swear a bird would eat more than my kids do, it's such a chore to them, there's a million other things they'd rather be doing than stopping to eat. Amazing, since me and the hubby are major foodies and would rather be eating than almost anything else!! I did say almost...
