twa craws feet

Rusty and trusty: Hurrah for spring unsprung ....

Today, looking for Rooks, I saw this wonderfull, 1993, Hi-lux, the absolute greatest of all pickup trucks, who had (and this one still has) a style that leaves any of today's bloated, over-designed hopefulls in the dust.

In 'Rancho Deluxe', 1974's hippy rustler movie, Sam Waterston, playing a Native American, goes home to see his wise old dad on the reservation: His dad says, "You know the trouble with this country, son? Too many young fellas with pickup trucks."

Harry Dean Stanton, Jeff Bridges and also the great, great, great Slim Pickens (who died the number-one-of-all-time-movie-deaths to Bob Dylan singing 'Knocking on Heaven's Door' in 'Pat Garret and Billy the Kid', and hanged Steve McQueen in 'Tom Horn') are in the same movie.

You know, I've never had a pickup truck.

But that doesn't mean to say that I can't imagine what it must be like.
