Magnolia

My magnolia tree has blossomed. For three years it's looked sorry for itself while I've nurtured it and cosseted it. Last year it flowered for half a day, then we had a storm and I lost all the gorgeous waxy blooms. So I'm a really really happy girl today.

I thought I'd try to create a painterly photograph for my blip. I used a gold reflector to highlight the petals then added a texture to the image. It took a bit of work with layers but I'm pretty pleased with the result. If we have a storm tonight I've immortalised at least one of my lovely flowers...phew.
