Marilyn

Strolled around the historic Five Points area of Riverside this afternoon. I saw this seat emblazoned with the image of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. I guess she can still turn heads.

I remember when the news broke that she had died. It was the old August Bank Holiday and I was on a camping weekend with my parents in North Wales, just outside Conway or Conwy as it is named in these politically correct days. My father went to get the Sunday paper and Marilyn's death was splashed across the front page.

Funny how I can recall where I was when I learned of her death but have no recollection of where I was when JFK was shot.
