Montage

I haven't slept sufficiently after coming here. I had felt good after an untimely nap one evening last weekend.

We were hardly able to tick anything off our long list of items but found the necessities. There was a large pot-bellied man at the restaurant we went for lunch. He sat on one of the tables very close to the entrance and would be one of the main sights greeting new entrants. Needless to say, he wasn't very inviting since a family who came in after us waited awhile before deciding to take their seat. The large man was asleep alone on a table for four, his chin resting upon his heaving chest. Before him was a half empty beer bottle and a tall full glass. He seemed so oblivious to everything around, it was almost laughable and perhaps even pitiable at the same time. Hard to tell, if was "happy hours" for him or not. Initially the waiters were amused but there was always the risk of his beer bottle toppling over. He was carefully watched. He even had water sprinkled on his face. Nudging and finally some heavy shaking were of no avail. Surprisingly, I missed him when he left. Perhaps I was engrossed in the rather tasty meal! So how that happened continues to baffle me.

These malls are huge, and as it happens filled with the "well turned out" people but well, they can be boring too. Walked into the iStore to inquire about the iPod and came across some fascinating stuff, including some very cool Harman Kardon speakers. Initially I was at a loss for what they actually were! Finding our way back was a little difficult, more so because we had to pass through the expressway and there generally is no one around who can help us. Missing out on single turns can lead us totally astray and it may take ages to return.

I have to mention I'm enjoying the idea of the Time-shift TV. Watched The Thomas Crown affair last night which had played a couple of days back. This feature will save us from having to wade through a whole lot of junk before what we want to see comes. All the crap about "Breaking news" which boils down to wedding arrangements between an Indian tennis player and a Pakistani cricketer can be avoided. All the Discovery, Nat Geo and even Travel programmes can be watched at leisure. Ideally, this should minimize the time one spends in front of the TV, which for us was low to begin with. But will it?

P.S. Thanks to Sh who decided to humour me by allowing this montage to be put up.
