Media wall in Te Papa

Te Papa - the national museum of Aotearoa/New Zealand - really is an astonishing place. Not only does it have a rich variety of exhibits on the history and pre-history of Aotearoa/New Zealand, but it also has an amazing virtual media room.

On one side of the room is a wall with monitors where you can click and drag on a range of images, or take a picture or video of yourself, or type some text. You then send the images selected to a massive media wall on the other side of the room where the text, images and video can be selected and manipulated with a digital wand (pointing the wand at an object makes a hand appear that - like a mouse pointer - allows you to control the image selected). So the room is full of children and adults, dragging and dropping, and playing with an incredible variety of images.

What better place to celebrate 100 blips: I doubt the girl pointing her wand at "100 blips" had a clue what it meant....but you never know...perhaps she was a blipper ;-)
